The clients of this long thin town garden wanted a contemporary garden to link with the interior of their Victorian house. They liked gardening and wanted to make the most of the space to include exciting and dramatic planting. The large raised beds give structure to what was a completely level garden and also space for layers of planting. Colours include purple flowers and silvery leafed plants and the seedheads of the grasses create interesting forms throughout the year.

The view from the house was important and draws attention to the simple reflecting pond and the coloured wall. Subtle lighting is designed to cast shadows from the planting on the walls.
