This small town garden backs onto a railway line in East London and is potentially a haven for birds. The design includes gabions filled with cobbles to create a raised bed, a log store with a green roof and large planting beds, all designed to create diverse habitats for wildlife.

The garden is also a place for relaxation and entertainment. Rusty metal screens have been placed to give the circular seating area a feeling of seclusion and privacy and the horizontal hedges of yew and box that extend into the garden, create divisions between the spaces without enclosing them completely.
